Masterclass with Joseph Johnson

Joseph Johnson is the principal cellist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and a sought-after soloist, chamber musician, and educator. He has performed with major festivals and orchestras worldwide, including concerto appearances with the TSO, Symphony Nova Scotia, and the Esprit Orchestra. A champion of new music, he has premiered concertos by Unsuk Chin, Miguel del Aguila, and Peter Eötvös. He is currently Associate Professor of Cello at the Eastman School of Music and formerly taught at the University of Toronto.

Masterclass with Timothy Ying

Timothy Ying was the first violinist of the Grammy-winning Ying Quartet for over 20 years, performing worldwide at venues like Carnegie Hall and the White House. A Naumburg Chamber Music Award winner, he has premiered works by top composers and collaborated across genres. He previously taught at Eastman and Harvard and now teaches at the University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory.

Masterclass with Marie Berard

Marie Bérard is the concertmaster of the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra and a sought-after chamber musician, soloist, and teacher. A former Toronto Symphony Orchestra member, she is a founding member of Trio Arkel and the Grammy-nominated ARC Ensemble. Renowned for her contemporary music interpretations, she has performed as a soloist with the Esprit Orchestra and appears on numerous recordings. She is on faculty at the Glenn Gould School, the University of Toronto, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada.
